01 Transfer Case ?'s

01 GMC 2500 (NON HD!!!!!)

 

The truck has 200k miles, and the transfer case seems to not be working. I can hear the motor engaging when I push the 4WD button, but the front wheels still don't spin. It doesn't throw a code, but I don't know what it could be. Could I have stripped the gears internally? I never heard a grind or anything, and don't hear anything when it's in 4WD.
