Axle Seal

Well did my right front axle seal today. It was not bad at all real easy. I guess I was a little nervous after reading horror stories on some posts on here. Pretty self explanatory when I took the tube off the springs washer and 4wd coupling only go on one way if it is put together wrong i will not go together so I really do not know what I was worried about. Took about an hour but next time I bet I could cut that in half. Wish I had a lift though but not too bad doing it while on jack stands. Thanks guys for the help it is much appreciated. I am sure the LF seal would be a little harder but I think I would take the whole diff out and split the case. Not leaking now so if it is not broke do not fix it.

removing the whole frt diff is not required to do the left frt seal,

 

those shafts sometimes fall out and other times not so easy on 3/4 tons especially,

What holds the left front axle in? Right side had a clip. Wow if thats the case than left side should be easier than right. Thanks man

Left front is held in by an internal snap ring. Remove or reposition the left front axle and take a good swing with a hammer and the left front stub shaft should pop loose.
