Transfer Case Grinding Noise

i have a chevy 2004 2500hd 4wd and when in 4wd and when the front tires start to dig in it makes bad noise like its slipping and grinding. is there a chain in the transfer case that could be slipping and stripped

yup,if it sounds like its comin apart while loaded in 4wd (brake stand) then its a chain and sprockets (very expensive)

 

ive done a thousand of them

 

price out repair or replace,lots of companies sell rebuilt t cases or have the chain and sprockets and a few bearings /seals replaced in yours
