Exhaust Bolt Sizes

Can someone tell me what size and threads for the bolts that hold the heat shield to the exhaust manifold as well as the bolts that hold the manifold to the head? I think the bolts for manifold to head are 3/8-16? Is that correct, and if so are they 1 inch or longer? I am working on a 2005 6.0. Like so many others, some of them broke and if I am going to replace them I will replace them all with quality aftermarket. Thanks in advance.

I have the same issue. What brand of bolt are you going to use?

 

I am going to see if I can get ARP or Stage 8. I think it would be better to go to the hardware store and just pick up some stainless bolts or some grade 8 bolts. The original ones are pure junk!!! I cant beleive I didn't even get 60K and have 3 broken manifold bolts. When are american car companys going to start making a product that they are capable of? I have to be honost, the longer I own american vehicles the more I understand why so many go with foreign. Okay I'm done venting...sorry.

I hear you. It can be love/hate. So many great things about our trucks and then GM does some questionable things that leave you scratching your head.

you would be better off getting grade 8 bolts over the stainless for that, they are stronger. stainless would be my choice on a nice looking intake or something. i have never used aftermarket, but i am sure they are top quality. probably have shanks on the bolts the correct length for the applicationi, ect. im the guy in the red vest that tells everybody what grade they need
