I have a 06 gmc sierra 1500 with stock chrome 17" rims currently with balding 265/70/17 pathfinders. I am looking at a more agressive tire between falken and nitto terra grapplers. I would like to go up to a 295/70/17 but don't kno if this would kill mpg or rub to much w/o lift kit. Any nitto between 265 and 295 is what im looking at, any advice on my next aggressive tire.

Thanks,

God Bless

I have done nothing in terms of leveling kit or anything, they are not stock tire, stock was 245/70/17, first pair of tires put on are the 265/70/17 pathfinders i have on now, as far as specs i dont know the detail as others give, its 6 lug if that helps.

I am just looking for a more aggressive tire for my truck, do you think Falken or nitto 265/70/17's would look decent on a 1500 or would i have to get bigger tire and lift kit for that look? Also you are advising to stick to 265 because bigger tire will cause too much rubbing w/o lift?

285/70r17 fit great on your body style. You can prolly clear the 295s too, if they rub then crank your torison bars a couple of turns.

I would reccomend the terra grappler, or trail if you want a more aggressive tire, as well as the Toyo AT and MT's, also the cooper zeon's are definately worth checking out as well if they come in your size.
