Adjustable Suspension Trim Height

I remember on GMC's website it lists the adjustable suspension trim height feature being new for 2011 . Does anyone know how this is done ? I know it is just cranking the torsion bars up but what exactly is the procedure and I assume they truck would have to be re-aligned after changes? I run an 8'2" Boss power-v xt plow on my 2011 Sierra 2500hd and would be nice to have a little less front end dip with the plow in the lifted position. On uneven roads the plow will sometimes contact the road while driving. There is nothing in the owners manual mentioning this feature.

The adjustability has been a feature since the torsion bars were first put on GM trucks since 1988, so thats nothing new. Apparently, with the re-design, the front can take some adjusting and can stay within a good parameter and may not need an alignment. The reason for this, fron what I read around has to do with the repositioning of the upper control arm http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/2284568-post217.html.

 

If you keep the truck leveled at all times and not just for the plow or just for plowing season, by all means if you wish, have an alignment done.

my dealer leveled/aligned it and put 3m tape weights in for me before delivery for free
