Temp Gauge Not Working....

Recommended Posts

Posted

Bought a 1992 K2500 with a 350 in her the other night. Temp gauge isn't working so naturally I'm thinking its the sending unit. Is the sending unit in the cylinder head or the intake? Sorry for the dumb question. They look the same to me and I didnt want to pull the one out of the head and loose all the water if I can help it. lol

It's the one in the head... I just had to replace the sensor in mine which is in the intake next to the thermostat housing. You're going to loose coolant no matter which one you pull, so you might as well go ahead and bite the bullet and replace it.
