i have a fac. nav. system, for a 2008 gmc sierra, i brought the system used, does this unit have turn by turn inst, i have been unable to turn it on, i read the nav. system book with no luck, i try voice prompt also with no luck, thanks

Yes it does. There is an option for the volume of the voice prompts, perhaps it's turned down to low.

You can download a manual from the internet.

If you can't find one, I can email you a pdf of a nav unit from 2006.....a little older but I don't think the unit has changed much as the 2006 manual matched my 07.5 just fine.

my voice prompt is turned up to hi, i do have the manual, i brought this unit used that may be why he sold it, no turn by turn, thanks

when the Nav system is talking it mutes/reduces the volume of the radio/music system and the volume knob functions for the Nav voice until it is done talking.

 

so even if you have the settings in the menu on high, if the volume has been turned down via the volume knob = no voice.

 

there is an icon on the screen during route guidance that you can touch to have the unit repeat the last turn by turn instruction, touch it and then raise the volume via the knob, I suspect it will correct the issue.

sorry the radio volume stay the same, i have the radio volume up hi, as i`am hear of hearing, when i start out it will say the the rt will start, then no more on the turn by turn, thanks

i did have to get onstar in order to use the turn by turn, thanks for your help,
