Gmt-900 Tail Lights

OK I give up! How the hell do you get the GMT-900 tail light housing off? Is there a special tool required? I have been twisting on the plastic fasteners to no avail and trying to squeeze them back thru the hole seems impossible. Why would they make this so complicated?

Any tips?

Did you remove the two screws inside the the bed towards the tail gate?

Ya there's just two screws and two clips. Once you get the two screws out you just pull the lights towards you to pop the clips out.

I think he is talking about the actual housing of the tail lights. If it's like the headlights, they are probably seal and might require the oven.....

Oops! I totally didn't see the two screws on the inside of the tailgate jamb. Thanks guys.

I need to take the tail lights out so I can dig out the stones and rocks that are pushing out little dimples on the rear fender edges. I know there is a bulletin from GM on this one, but I'm out of warranty so I'll do it myself.
