2003 Gmc Sonoma Zr2 Axel Leak

I have a 2003 GMC sonoma ZR2. And have a leak where the front left axel meets the (transmission? or transfer case?) It is dropping just underneath the axel boot. Is there a seal in there that can wear? If so, what type of process is it to replace? Thanks!
