Factory Trans Temp Gauge Help

OK, I finally got all the parts together to install the factory style transmission temperature gauge into my cluster. I began putting all the pieces together, but I keep getting intermittent signls to the stepper motor. So I took it off thinking it was a a cold solder joint. But, I never did get a clear signal. The stepper motor would reset like all the other motors, but I nver could get it to move as the truck heated up. So, I tried and trid again, and now my circuit board is looking pretty rough. Can someone help me to salvage the board? I dont want to keep trying and burn it up.

P.S. If I cant get it to work, Im gonna be putting it all up for sale. SO if anyone wants all the parts to do the swap, Ill sell them for $100 plus shipping.
