2000 K3500 Dually 454 Cooked

whats up all

I have a 2000 K3500 chevy w a 454 and dual rear wheels w 245\75\16 mud tires

 

Intake gasket went at 202K, all workin miles as my daily driver building homes; barely a problem before that

 

BUT it cooked the motor in 15 miles (gasket went inside not out.)

 

 

so i have to replace....... Options and concerns

 

I hate the 99 mph rev limit.

want to stick w a 454 looking at a PPI longblock drop shipped for $2600 a J vin 454

Plan to lift the truck and redo interior and keep it not gonna work it

Are there any other suppliers yall know of?

 

also what programmers worked good for those motors and truck config?

Plan to replace the serviceable parts with new Pumps, hoses ect

You can get a nice carb 454 on ebay for 700 bucks.i know someone that has a k2500 with the vortec 454 and blew it up with around 160k.but he killed it mud bogging and bouching it off the rev limiter he had to get a cherry picker to pull the motor thats how high the truck was.A shop to pull the motor not to many shops will get involved you have to find a backyard mechanic.probably better off rebuilding it.
