2009 2500hd Duramax Fuel Gauge Not Working

I have had my 2009 2500HD Duramax to the dealer twice for a fuel gauge issue and it is still not resolved. My fuel gauge will register full when I fill it up and will slowly go to about 7/8 of a tank as I drive about a 100 miles. Once the gauge reaches 7/8 of a tank it will not register any lower, it appears stuck at 7/8 tank. The dealer has replaced the fuel level sensor twice and say they can find nothing wrong. Well, something is wrong because the thing only reads the first 1/8 of a tank and stops there. When I shut the truck off the needle goes to "E" so I don't belive it is the gauge. Any suggestions?
