Rear Seat Back

I'm not sure how specific the interior is on the 2500 (compared to the 1500) - otherwise I would post this in a more general forum. I'm trying to gain access to the rear of the seat backs on the back bench of the crew cab. Does anybody know if there is a relatively easy way to pop the back of the seat to go forward - allowing me acces?

The reason I ask is that I have a 4-way harness for my son (he's disabled) - and I also need to add side bolsters which was an easy task on bucket seats in my suburban. Not having easy access to the seat-back is driving me crazy.

When I look at the mechanism, it looks like there should be a simple release - but I can't figure it out.

I dont know of an easier way. But I removed my seats and trimmed the 3 catches (you can see them in the pic near the top of the seat back) just enough to clear when the seat bottom is raised. So now I can fold my seat backs whenever I need to and they still fully lock when in the up position

Thanks BMG09 - looks good - thanks for picture. How did you get access to the seat back in the first place? Which bolts did you undo?

I removed the seats. They are held to the floor by 5-6 nuts.

very disappointed with chevy here. heavy duty worktruck with no behind the seat storage. not sure what they were thinking with this design.
