Service 4wd,stability Sys Disabled, C0283 Code

Hi all. First time posting here. I have an 05 Avalanche 4x4,1500 with Service 4wd and Stability Sys Disabled on the diver info screen. I also have code C0283( Traction switch shorted to ground). I replaced the 4x4 push button switch as there were no lights at all. I now have lights on the 4x4 switch when I turn on the key but then they go out. No life at all with the 4x4 system. I can clear the co283 code but it comes back on it just a few seconds. I checked the stability switch on the dash with on ohm meter and it looked and acted fine but?? I ordered an new stability switch and it should be here thur. Has anyone seen this before? Or where do I go next? T-case acuator and encoder motor? Any help would be great. I have searched lots of post on some of the same issues but no clear fix's??

I have an 08 silverado and the last time i got those warnings on my dash it was a bad hub. Now a few months later I am getting it again.

I dont have a scanner. I just took it up to the dealer and they took care of it. Im wondering if its going to be an ongoing issue because of the leveling kit.
