strapassassin20 Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I've got an 05 gmc sierra with the bose sund system. I am wanting to put in a new stereo so I can play my Ipod through it and then add an amp and subs for the back. Ive replaced non bose stereos before with no problems but I've been told i need some other wiring harness for the bose. What other problems might I run into or is there an easier way to do this?
gregrocks89 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 from what i learned is that you need that "box" and "harness" for a bose system. I didnt look into anymore cause i dont have a bose system in my truck. I had the crappy factory speakers. I replaced my factory speakers with kickers and added a kicker 4 channel. And this week im installing my double din dvd deck in. For installing that you have two choices either buying that pac interface cable or build your own cable that plugs into the factory harness. Only thing is that way it costs $20 and you loose your door chimes and the interface you can install is $180 for the non bose system and $250 for the bose system. I"m building my own cable.
gregrocks89 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 but that building your harness you can only work from a 2000-2007 gmc. Mines an 04 so i can get away with it
