Rear Lift Blocks

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Ive got a 99 sierra 2wd and i recently put a small lift on the truck. I have a front 2.5 inch spacer kit and 2 inch rear lift blocks. I have heard about some problems with axle twist when it comes to the rear blocks. Do I need to worry about that since they are only two inch blocks? Any help is appreciated!!!!

Thanks!

Nope, not really. Once you get 5" or above, its certainly something to consider. GM has soft rear springs for a better ride and tend to flex a little more. But with a 2" block, you've got nothing to worry about.

did you remove the facotry 1.25" block when you installed the 2" block?

as long as there is only one block, and you weren't "stacking" it on top of the stock block, you have nothing to worry about. stacking blocks is dangerous!

No i didnt stack thanks guys for the help though. One more question. If i do happen to get axle wrap can i fix the problem just by removing the blocks? Thanks

you would want to put the stock ones back in if you remove the 2" blocks. to combat axle wrap, a traction bar kit will help.

tuff country makes a set that actually goes above the leaf springs, most others go below and are specific for lift kits that use tall lift blocks

Ok i actually dont think it had stock blocks the leaf springs were sitting on a little bracket on the axle.

just noticed yours was a 99, i was thinking it was the NNBS which does have a stock block. if you like the height with the block but worried about axle wrap, the tuff country trac bars will be a good add on. they're reasonably priced and you should be able to install them yourself.
