2006 Gm Car Problems

I know this is a truck site but I think my issues with my 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo are pertinent because it uses the same remote start and heater controls as the pickups.

Problem #1. The remote start only works if I am standing 5 - 10 feet from it. Why is this and how do I fix it? It is not the remote battery as I have changed it.

Problem #2. The heater on my car will blow cold air if it is idling or at a stop. It only blows hot air when I am stepping on the gas. With Winter right around the corner I really want this to be fixed.

Problem #3. When I change the temp setting from heat to cold or cold to heat a horribly loud clicking noise is emitted from the dashboard. It stops after I drive about 1/4 mile. This noise also happens when the remote start turns off or I turn the key after the remote start turns off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure on number 1. Could be problem with remote or reciever.

Number 2- sounds like you are low on coolant. I would be looking the engine over for leaks, intake gaskets are common problems.

Number 3- Sounds like you have a bad temp actuator or binding hvac door.
