Noise From Front Brakes

Recommended Posts

When I put her in reverse, back up, and cut it all the way to the right, I get a clicking/rubbing sound of some sort that eminates from, I think, the front brakes...

Maybe it's been there all along, but with the nice fall weather, happened to have the driver's window down and noticed it.

Brakes don't pull, make no noise at all goiing forward or on braking.....

Am I paranoid, or.... (?)

My 07 Sierra did something similar to this, when i changed the front brakes i noticed that my front left brake rotor was missing the screw that helps hold into place and on my caliper there are two metal covers that the brake pads sit on and they were scrapping on the rotor. Perhaps the rotor wasn't flush when installed and only the wheel lug nuts were keeping the rotor from moving. So i think that when i applied the brakes or moved in reverse the rotor slightly moved and contacted that caliper metal cover thus making the noise. I repositioned my rotor and made sure that there was adequate spacing between the rotor and metal caliper cover and also ensured when i reinstalled the wheels that they were flush with the rotors. Hope this helps, kinda vague i know. let me know if i need to clarify more.
