Brake Line Sizing Sae Or Din

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a 2004 GMC 1500. The brakes lines are starting to look bad, can anyone tell me if GM used metric tube and nuts with the Bubble flare or the old standard 45 Degree double flare on SAE lines. I want to purchase a flare tool kit and some material to start changing these lines out, Think I may have access to a Scan tool to bleed the ABS, so I would like to do this one at home and not bring it to the dealer. Any help would be great.

All lines on my 03 silverado were rotten. I just finished the same job. 70 ft .250 tubing double flared, all new hoses, brake cables, pads rotors, calipers. Afew extra unions are needed in tight places.
