High Perf Crate Engines?

I have a 2000 Silverado 1500. With the exception of a grumbly rear @ around 140k,,which i rebuilt then eventualy replaced , the truck has almost 260k flawless miles on it. It still runs excellent, doesnt use oil,ect , But i know the laws of probability will eventually catch up. I am going to keep this truck and restore it as needed. My queston is,Is there a HP replacement engine available for the 5.3 T? I,m from old school..older engines i know...these.not so much. I,m a bit hesitant to change the type of motor since this one has been so reliable, but a wee bit more boat pulling power would be nice. Any Suggestions?

Do a search on 5.3 crate motors. You will get a lot of results. I believe there is a 332hp version out as well.

i know you want to stay with the 5.3, but if your looking for some extra for pulling a boat, at some point you may want to look into the 6L-LQ9 motor. rated at 345 HP and 380 TQ.

good luck..

How much more power do you want? And how much do you want to spend?

Wow..looks like a nasty engine eh?. I,m not looking to cheap out...or go broke either. I,m looking at this way.. Truck still looks and drives great...so..10 or 12 Gs equals another 5-6 years and some fun....and i,m still way ahead of a new payment book. I drive ALLOT and often north of the border...so...cheap crapppy rebults are out of the question. Thanks for the link. def something to think about
