Bowl Game Bids, Pi$$ me off!

I pulled for Notre Dame all year, then they blow it against USC and screw over my Mountaineers. The idea that Notre Dame gets one of the Big East Bowl bids has pi$$ed me off since it started a couple years ago. Notre Dame is in the Big East in Basketball. I think they should be required to be in the Big East in Football to continue to stay in in basketball AND get one of the bowl bids, if the bowl wants them.

WVU had an awesome season (which should've been better, because they got robbed by the refs in Wisconsin early in the year) and they earned a New Year's Day Bowl game. Now because ND blew it against USc they get srcewed out of it, and will probably be playing in Charlotte on Dec. 28.

Oh Elwood, if you only lived in the midwest and listened to the fans here of ND!! You'd never be an Irish fan again.

I was afraid that's what was going to happen too. Pi**es me off as well. Now we just have to hope ND loses big!

Of course you know why ND isn't in the Big East for football, right? They'd lose that lucrative independent football TV contract - despite what they say, that's the real reason they aren't in the Big East in football.

Oh yeah. That NBC contract is what keeps them where they are, I know.

And I still like them, but I get ticked when stuff like this happens.

Of course there is a rumor out there that ND is going to be invited into the Big 10 and Penn State is going to leave it for the Big East. I'm sure it won't happen, but it would be awesome if ND or Penn State one or the other joined the Big East.

And I won't change my mind anytime soon about them, because I like Tyrone Willingham alot. I quit liking them for a while because I hated Bob Davie, but now they have a coach I really like.

The whole thing smells bad doesn't it? WVU beat BC and BC beat ND on the road. I'm willing to bet ND would lose to the top 4 Big East teams but the press is so star-struck over ND this year that their giving them hand-outs to the end.

Notre Dame....the hands down most overrated team in the country.

Oh yeah they still have a shot at the BCS, which I hope they get, then WVU gets the Gator Bowl.

But like I said before I'm not so sure they were THAT overrated. Everyone said all along that the defense was the team, and they couldn't win on defense and special teams forever. USC is a d@mn good team this year too.

I wouldn't care to lose the spot to ND if they were in the conference, I just don't like them having that deal where they get a Big East bowl spot under certain circumstances.

Yep, I am impressed with Tyrone too. He seems to know how to get the best out of them, pretty consistently. I saw them against Michigan and was impressed w/ their quarterback too.

I find it hard to believe that Penn State would ever consider getting out of the Big10, but I guess you never know?

Of course ND is a huge draw all over the country, pretty much, so I can see why the bowls are knocking each other down to get ND, but you know, WVU has a good draw in person, but hard to top ND's TV audience potential.

Let's just keep hoping WVU gets to the Gator Bowl. :thumb:
