Oil Leak Troubleshooting

I'm having an oil leak, and I'm not sure where to start looking for it.

 

I have noticed, that the truck does not consitently leak all the time. It only seems to leak when the truck first starts up. It has a considerable drip when the truck first starts, then seems to stop after a period of time (never rode under the truck to determine how long it leaks....yet).

 

My guess is it is on the top of the motor, and after the seal (whichever one it may be) warms up, the leak stops.

 

Anyone had much experience with symptoms like this?

well you have to find out where it is leaking first. it should be fairly obvious if it dripping a lot. The reason it stops is the metal expanding when hot. I would get that check out asap
