I have ordered a vehicle from Chevrolet. It is a 3500HD LT Crew Cab Long Bed.

Instead of getting the factory Navigation system, I have decided to go the aftermarket route and while I am at it I will upgrade the speakers. How many speakers and what are their various sizes for the vehicle I have specified?

Thanks for the help (I live too far from the dealer to drop by and look)!

4 - 6.5" door speakers

2 - A-pillar mounted tweeters

I have Rockford Fosgate's installed in place of my factory speakers and love them.

Chevytech,

Where did you get your speakers??I also have a 2011 crewcab with factory speakers(they suck)..

after having my Avalanche with Bose for 6 years I need to change out these factory ones.

I also live in Michigan in the Flint ,Davison area...Are they real costly??

thanks

You may or may not need adapters for mounting depth. Check the depth of whatever speakers your looking at.

I would NOT attempt and mount a speaker in this application WITHOUT the correct adapters. Rattle central without them.

Online? Crutchfield is an o.k. source. Duke's on Miller Rd. in Flint should be able to help you as well.

As far as price you can go as cheap or as expensive as you want but it all depends on what you're planning to use for a head unit, what kind of sound quality you want and how much you have to spend.

They are pretty quick and painless to change out, if you're o.k. with doing say, a brake job (same approximate level of difficulty). I went with some Rockford Fosgate's for mine and they sound quite good for the $100ish I spent on them. I hear there are good things to be had by changing out the factory tweeters as well but I haven't gotten that far but I also have yet to get my sub up and running as well so.....

At least with your CC you'll be able to buy the same speakers and adapters for all four doors. My Ext. Cab cost me some $$ to get my rear speakers mounted properly due to a completely different mounting option in the rear door vs. the front door. Duke's hooked me up with some custom mounting plates for them as I just didn't have the time and couldn't bear to listen to the rear door speakers rattle anymore.
