2007 Sierra hands Free Options?

So all the reading in my manual has me understanding that I can't use handsfree without an on star subscription in my 2007 Sierra. Is this true or is there a way for me to hook my phone up and use my hands free without having to pay OnStar $39 for 100 minutes?

 

If I can't get around going through OnStar I might as well just buy a new GPS with Bluetooth Capabilities.

 

Thoughts? Thanks for the help ahead time.

You can upgrade the VCIM to a later model, disabling OnStar though, however ADDING Bluetooth. Then connect your phone, no cost (except for what you paid for the VCIM)

Dont know. Some have reported that yes it still works, but I havent tried it myself.
