Truck stalls, Service Air Bag message, need help

Hey guys this morning I started the truck and it died about 10 seconds into idle (never done this before) so I started it again and it ran ok but the "Service Air Bag" Message came up on the DIC. I've been fighting the oil consumption battle but it's not low on oil right now. Now there are no messages and no more stalling (yet) but the air bag indicator says air bags are turned off.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

This happened to me a few months ago. Right after I swapped in a new brake light switch (not that I think it had anything to do with it), but I remember installing the switch right before a road trip (needed the cruise control working).

Anyway, side tracked there....i started it up like you said, it died. It caught me off guard for a second, started it back up and the air bag light came on. Three months later, it still shows up on the DIC every day. I tried pulling the battery, thinking it may reset a computer, no luck.

It hasn't concerned me enough to take it to the dealer to have the codes read. I don't think there's any use trying to troubleshoot it until I have the codes scanned, that and I don'[t want to mess around with airbags. I guess the real thing holding me back is the fear of how much its going to cost to fix whatever bloody sensor must be shot! lol
