underseat sub box

wondering if anyone could help.

after a failed first at building a box on my own im looking for some help i have a sundown e8v2 that im trying to have a down fired ported box for. it will be installed in a 05 ecsb i came up with these for dimensions.

20in wide, 12in deep, 8in tall

if i go over the drivetrain hump i can have a little more room.

this was the first box that i built and it sounded horrible,

i was told to cut the external port off and try it but that still didnt help and sounds like ass. any chances you could design something for me?

You didn't mention if your sub was the D2 or D1 model, the two have diff specs.

If you want someone else to design it try PWKdesigns.com, I think a sub enclosure design costs around $50.

I'm not familiar with the dimensions on the 05 extended cab, I have an 09 ext cab an I gave up on the idea of putting 8's under the front seats, so I just went with a single 10 in a sealed enclosure. I haven't even put it in yet, I already have plenty of bass for my needs from my 6.5 mids in the front doors.

If you use the calculator correctly you should come up with a ported design that will work great for your sub. I was fooling around with it and from your rough numbers I was getting .6 cu ft, which is what the specs an your sub call for in a ported enclosure. Good luck.

Here is a box I made for my 00 Silvy. Like CloudSplitter, I'm not certain what the measurements on the 05 are, but I'm sure they are very similar. I wanted my sub to fire down also, but the depth of the speaker wouldn't work in the little space I had (7 inches deep in the rear and 9 in the front). Looks like that e8v2 is only 4 and a quarter so you should be able to swing that. I was pretty happy with how this box turned out. The airspace and port gave the solobaric some clean low bass. The only thing I didn't like was that it rubbed on the bottom of the rear seat a bit. Again, since that e8v2 isn't too deep, you could probably make the box a bit shorter.
