Fresh air intake

Hello all,

 

I have a 2011 3500HD Silverado. Absolutley love the truck so far aside from the dusty cab issue I'm having...

Hoping someone has advice or experience in adding a cab filter. I use the truck for road construction and can't keep my interior clean to save my life.

Dealer told me they quit putting cab filters in in 2004. I'm hoping there is something aftermarket I could use.

Set the knob to floor/dash vent then put in recirc with fan on low this will stop the ouside air from coming in. Thats what I do and it makes a big differance

Thanks for the response.

One of our equipment mechanics suggested the same. I tried it but the recirc won't stay on when you shut the truck off. So when I start up it loads the cab with whatever is in the fresh air intake.

I will admit I work in extreme dust with scrapers and offroad trucks. It's a shame to put a truck like this through it but comes with the job.

One dealer suggested disconnecting the acuator to keep it on recirc full time. I think that may cause other issues with defrost and what not.

I'm really hoping to find a way to put a filter system on the truck.

 

Please keep the advice coming, this site makes me feel like a kid in a candy store!

That is exactly what I need. Now if it came with instructions for a non-mechanically inclined bohemian I'd be off to the races...
