95 4.3 1500 intake/header fitment questions

Hey guys, I am new here, and fairly new to GM, but I am trying to help my brother out.

He owns a 1995 Chevy 1500 with 4.3 vortec tbi/4l60e auto.

We have recently fix his truck to run nice again, so now he wants to slowly and lightly mod his truck, but I am having a hard time finding parts for his specific year, chassis, and engine.

He's allready got a muffler-back dual exhaust, and is looking to grab a few bolt-ons like a decent intake and decent pair of tubular headers and cat. He's really not looking to spend over $100 on an intake (just a pipe and crappy filter, that will be replaced by a k&n cone filter I allready have), so I hopped onto ebay and found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVY-C-K-1500-2500-3500-AIR-INTAKE-1992-1993-1994-1995-/390398218537?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5ae58c1129&vxp=mtr

this, and all other cheap intakes I can find all say 88-95 1500 v8 tbi, will this simple intake fit his 1500's 4.3 tbi?

Also, he is looking to replace his factory cast exhaust manifold with a decent pair of tubular shorty headers, I found alot out of his price range ($400+), and some on ebay for under $200.http://www.ebay.com/itm/PaceSetter-70-1321-Painted-Black-Shorty-Header-96-99-Chevy-GMC-Truck-w-4-3L-V6-/390372180554?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AChevrolet&hash=item5ae3fec24a&vxp=mtr, http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-96-01-CHEVROLET-S10-PICKUP-4-3L-V6-Exhaust-Header-/150773535632?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item231acd9390&vxp=mtr.....

these, and all other 4.3 headers I find are all labeled for 96+ and usuall s10/blazer chassis, will either of these cheap headers fit on his 95 1500?

He's also looking to replace his old factory Y/cat section with this Manaflow http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic_converters/02product/displaydirectfit01.asp?catalogid=4824&directfit=23256

Will this y/cat bolt up to the above headers/stock catback exhaust?

We are really having trouble find stuff for the 95, and the 4.3....will these parts work on his truck? thanks guys!

Will the 88-95 v8 intake fit the 95 4.3 tbi or cpi engine?

Will the 96+ 4.3 headers fit his 95 4.3?

Will the headers bolt onto the Magnaflow cat linked above?

thanks guys!

Those headers are for a 96+ which have a egr port your 95 doesnt,Those headers also have a header reducers that magnaflow ypipe has stock manifold flanges.Youll have to delete the egr,Cut the ypipe flanges off and weld on headers reducers.IMO its not worth it on a 4.3.

so neither of those header will bolt up to the stock ypipe/cat section?

do you know of any cheap shorty headers that will fit his 95 4.3 1500 with stock ypipe/cat or magnaflow ypipe/cat?

No.Unless you want to spend 350+.You can get a 305 or 350 from a junkyard for 300.

Yeah, I know, but he wants to keep the 4.3, he likes the idea of having a fullsize with a v6. Im just trying to help him out.

He is dead set on a "cold air intake" and bolt-on headers and Magnaflow ypipe/cat.

Do you know of any shorty headers that will bolt up to the Magnaflow cat in his 95 1500 4.3?

I have the same motor on my 93 and have not been able to find ANY bolt on (no custom) headers...

yeah, i know the feeling man, I guess we will have to see about deleting the egr part of the 96+ headers and changing the flanges on the ypipe. would the 96+ s10/blazer headers physically fit the 1500 chassis with 4.3?

He likes that he has a fullsize truck and it has a V6?thats first,96s will fit and since you have a obd1 it wont throw a code for the egr as long as you keep the solenoid hooked up.The port on the header would be filled with some jb weld or weld some sort of cap on it.

LOL yeah, I said the same thing about the fullsize with v6. when he first said he wants a little more power I said 350 or 454, but he likes his 4.3 and just wants to do intake, header and exhaust.

Im thinking we may have to try these out. Says they fit the stock y-pipe, so it should bolt up to the magnaflow y-pipe/cat section, and I'll just plug the egr on the header.

Anyone know if a cold air intake for a 95 1500 v8 tbi will fit his 95 4.3 tbi? I think they look the same and have the same bolt pattern on the tbi, just wanting to make sure...

Yes those headers will work i have the same headers on my vortec 350 great headers, they will bolt right up to the ypipe,As for the cold air intake dont bother with the tubing just buy a 3" open element filter and a base plate.

Posted

Well i try to save ppl money he is going to spend what 150-200 bucks on that intake when you can get a open element for 20 bucks. It will go smoothly your not installing a cam or something like that so its not a project,Just make sure you mock up the ypipe with the reducers so your ypipe isnt still low.,DO NOT just weld the reducers on get the right measurement so it looks right not all hacked up.
