Mystery cable, help identify

While dropping the fuel tanks to replace the hoses this cable fell out from behind the driver's side fuel tank. What is it and where does this go? I thought it may have went to a CB antenna Dad had mounted on the truck years ago but I'm not sure.

It does sorta look like a cb antenna wire

Looks to me like some kind of temperature sensor wire but it has probes on both ends. May have just ran over it on the road sometime and it got picked up?

real question: does the truck work without it? If so you just saved on weight!

Thats sorta what I was thinking too, although nothing back there should have a temp sensor. So I'd say likely it was for the CB radio.

first see does the truck find any difficulty without it. i think it can be the temperature wire or the CB radio wire. but i am still not sure which one it is.
