truck sqealing when turning left

My 04 sierra has started squealing when I have the wheel turned hard to the left. A slight left turn does not make the sound, but once it is close to fully turned it makes the sound. It does not do this when turning to the right. If I have the truck running and in park, then turn the wheel to the left it still makes the sound, so it doesn't need to be moving to make the sound. It kinda sounds like a squealing belt or something similar. I found a video in another forum of the same sound that my truck is making.

Power steering pump?

I'm going to replace the power steering fluid and see if that will get the squealing sound to stop.

Open the hood & listen to the system while someone operates it for you. With luck you can pin down the noise before doing any work.

fluid change will NOT fix it so dont waste your time

 

pump or steering box ...get a tech to look at it ,,,,,something is stressing the pump and the belt is squealing ,dont guess,it MAY bite ya in the arse
