I have a 2011 1500z71, love the truck but have been noticing that while driving the intensity of radio lights and dash will get real dim for a few minutes and then all of the sudden will get bright again. Anyone else have this issue? When I go for first oil change I will have them look at it (still have not had first oil change 4970 miles and have had truck for ten months) While on this topic Oil life is right around 30% at what percentage should I get oil change? Does oil get replaces with synthetic, how else would oil last 5k miles plus? If anyone has feedback would love to hear it, thanks.

The oil is dexos oil or something like that and my dealer said it wont need changing for 10k miles. Im still changing it at 3k anyways. As far as the dim lights. I think your daytime light sensor needs to be checked. Its the sensor that tells the truck when its dark, so your headlights comes and also it dims your interior lights (radio, gauges etc), so that you arent blinded by it all at night.

I would have to agree with the previous post that this may be something as simple as a sonsor. I would have to recommend that you bring this up at your next visit. You can get more information on engine oil at http://www.gmdexos.com/licensedbrands.html. You can click on the Dexos icons to get a list of approved oils. Let me know if you need anything else. Thank you.
