2500HD wet floor and missing header bolts

A few months ago I heard a faint sound of an exhaust leak but didn't think anything of it. This is on a 2004 Silverado 2500HD 6.0L. I have several of these trucks and I flipped when I learned where its coming from. So it turned out I had 3 "missing" bolts on driver side and 4...yeah that's right, 4 "missing" bolts on the passenger side. I pulled out my fancy pen and started writing up a part list. I assumed taking the other bolts was going to be impossible so I went on eBay and found a pair of LQ9 heads (remaned) for less than $200 shipped. Machine work alone was going to run me a hell of a lot more than $200 to yank the broken bolts out so I figured it was a good investment. But than my brain got too involved and I shipped them out to get a port/polish work done...etc. Just got them back today and in a process of installing tomorrow. So anyways while I was attempting to remove the rest of the bolts that were not "MISSING" I ended up using a air hammer and cold chisel to brake them off, which of course broke the exhaust manifold bolt holes. Another $200...

anywho, while I was going this deep into the repair I basically bought bunch of new parts while everything was off to replace it after all the truck has 150K miles on it...so I was under the truck picking up the exhaust flange bolts and wanted to pop the hood...the doors were open so I put my hand in the cab and notice a wet...when I say wet I don't mean damp, snow in shoes, window slightly open...I mean roll up your sox, get your scuba gear on...wet!

The truck has been parked since July. The exhaust noise was too loud to handle. I hasn't been driven, it hasn't been run...its plane water.

I'm thinking of connecting my battery and turning on the fan inside than poring on the truck a very soapy water solution and looking for bubbles to see where its coming from...

I know I made some of you read a small book but I needed to vent for a sec...its all good the sand out of my **** has been removed!

I know some of you had the same water issue. Where should I focus on?

Thanks,

Dan

In my 99 truck the high mounted stop light leaked and I got a wet back seat from it, put new gasket around it and no more leak. :jester: Hope this helps.
