Voltage stabilizer killed my battery?

I installed a voltage stabilizer last night because my sound system frequently drained my battery very low, however when i went to start it this morning it went into the run position on the key sequence however it would not crank over. After a couple tries the whole dash flashed and everything turned off. As of now even with a battery charger connected, none of the inner electronics work not even the overhead light or power-lock? do I need a new battery or does this sound like a more serious problem?

Did you check all connections, both power and grounds? Do not just look at them, take them off and clean them, then reinstall. Does not matter which one you do first, but, if the positive first, be careful with the wrench and don't touch any ground spots with the wrench while removing the bolt from positive battery post. Once negative is disconnected, you cannot short out the positive side unless you connect positive terminal direct to negative terminal.

Isn't a voltage stabilizer just a bank of capacitors? You may have a leaky cap which is drawing current all the time draining the battery. Unhook the unit, charge the battery and see if the problem happens again. If not, get a new unit.
