Dealer Ability?

Can the dealer activate steering wheel controls and the DIC without me having the stock radio in? I am hoping they aren't dependant on each other. I dont have a harness in yet I wanted to get the wheel installed and activated in the BCM first? Can I get the proper steps since I have an aftermarket radio?

Yes, they should have the ability to activate the BCM:

take careful note on the updated programming procedure. My truck has been programmed for years, not sure if this is an option anymore since the GMT800s are older.
