by passing rear knock sensor

I have a 2005 1500 5.3l that has had a rear knock sensor low voltage code recently. Last month I replaced both sensors, and just like before i replaced them every 800 miles the same code appears. I heard a rummer that some LS guys were just splicing the two sensors together and leaving the rear dead and just allowing the reading from the front to be enough. Has anyone tried this at the plug located on the outside of the intake.

Anyone have thoughts as to why i still get this code. Even before i replaced the sensors/pig tails the code would only show up about 800 miles of driving, never going away.

Did you ever put black Permatex around the harness cups that go into the valley cover?

The permatex is a must. The boots or whatever you call them were Silverado cracked they would never seal water out again with out silicon. Even if the pig tail came with new rubber I would have sealed them.

Yep everything is sealed. Not trying to be rude but neither of those replys have anything to do with the original post. I did not ask about the installation of the boots or knock sensor, the lack of permatex would not result in a knock sensor code in the short term. my main question is whether or not someone has seen the knock sensors spliced together.

Actually it can result in a code If water gets in there. And none of us have done it so why don't gouging try it and in about 800 miles tell us if splicing worked
