silver colormatch linex

who here has silver, or any lighter color of the colormatched linex? i got mine done a few weeks ago and the bed rails have started to yellow. i assume the only reason the rest hasn't is because of my bed cover... they're going to reshoot the silver but i'd like to know if anyone else has had any issues...

I haven't heard good things about colored linex, I'm sorry to say. Even the linex dealer where I live told me to get black. (Matches my black truck!)

 

I have seen people who don't have canopies over their truck box (I have one) get some sun bleaching after a few years. I still think linex is one of the best truck spray liners around though.

I think the main problem with colour matched line-x is there is nothing to protect the colour pigment from the sun. Vehicle paints are generally 2 stage, with the last stage (clear coat) protecting the paint from the sun, and slowing down the fade considerably. My line-x dealer told me they just spray the colour on after the line-x is dry. No mention of a clear coat after that.

To continue off what Doug said, given the texture of the liner, there is really no color-fast treatment they can do. You'll lose the color in the sun, plain and simple. I've had black for 11 years with no problem, but the colors just don't stick right.
