GMT800 & GMT900 Brake Interchange

Mainly because I'm not familiar with the Avalanch, is the GMT800 to GMT900 brake upgrade mentioned below doable on the GMT800 2006 Suburban 1500?

If so, I'm going to do like jlupien502 did in the thread below with the GMT900 2007 and up police grade Raybestos brakes in this thread:

Summary:

The GMT900 front rotors are 13" instead of the GMT800's 12" front rotors. The upgrade involves new rotors, pads, calipers and caliper mounting brackets. The rear brakes are already 13" and just fine. The GMT800 has dorky smaller front rotors than rear. Don't ask about "upgrading" to GMT900 rear brakes as their calipers are a downgrade (single piston instead of the GMT800's double piston calipers). The GMT900 has dorky Trailblazer rear calipers.

Both setups are lame so if you have a GMT800, upgrade to the GMT900 front brakes. If you have a GMT900, upgrade (if possible, I haven't confirmed that it is) to the GMT800 rear brakes.

This all applies to the 1500 series only.

For me, with a LTZ and stock 20" five spoke wheels, it is very noticeable that the front rotor is too small and it does look dorky. Now I am not considering this for looks. I have always felt that stopping this beast sucks and now that I am doing more towing, I just want a simple upgrade without the expense of a BBK that will not allow my spare to fit. BTW: Yes I have properly adjusted trailer brakes but still, the more the better when it comes to brakes, especially when towing. All the Avalanch drivers who did this seem to love the upgrade.

I'll be down there replacing a hub soon so maybe the time is right. Or am I missing something that doesn't apply to my Suburban because I'm reading about Avalanches being upgraded to newer Tahoe brakes. I'm assuming the '07 Tahoe and Suburbans are sharing identical front brakes.

So how 'bout it, can '07 Suburban front brakes fit on a 2006 Suburban?
