Acc Wire Down Beside Brake Pedal

i read some info on here with a teal/green ish plug in a "power panel" down to the left of the brake pedal on my 2013 silverado. I tested the yellow wire in that plug as people said it was accessory. And sure enough it was. i am currently using it to turn on my amplifier as i am using the factory head unit. i was wondering if this is safe to do so?

 

what is that yellow wire powering? is it fused? should i fuse it to my amp?

 

** the domelights turned off when i unplugged this plug to tap into the yellow.

 

any info will ease my mind hopefully as this is my 1ST BRAND NEW truck and dont wanna mess anything up lol

It is never a good idea to tap into a wire on a late model car or truck unless you know exactly what it is. Go to the GM Body Builders site and get a full set of electrical wiring diagrams for your truck. This is a 839 page document for the 2013 GM light duty trucks.<br />Here is a link.
