May buy a newer Blazer

Heres the deal, I am going to be working near my school next year (Clemson) For GE in Greenville and will need to commute about 30 miles each way every day. I will also need to make a 700 mile trip twice a year with all of my stuff (dorm stuff). I need to get a large, reliable vehicle that can carry my stuff and still be decent on gas. I am thinking right now about a newer (not new) Blazer or getting a Caprice Wagon and pimping it out some. What do you guys think the advantages of either would be, costs of getting a good quality vehicle and any problems any of you have had with blazers. I am open to any suggestions now and would like to keep the cost around 10,000.

you can get oh say a nice fullsize z71 for about that much, I was always more in the 5000 dollar range when looking around, yuo could prolly find a nice deal on a 95 blazer, since they have the newer body style. Then u'd have some spare cash to really pimp it.

i'd get a z71, if you go down south, mexico you can get a fullsize, 2 door 4x4 Z71 blazer, there not avaliable in the US, that sucks, or you can get a 2wd and make it into a bad street truck
