Hey everyone.. I just did an engine swap form a 2003 silverado 3500 into my 1977 chevy c30. I've connected the evap canister up just like on the silverado. The fuel pump from the 3500 does not have a fuel pressure sensor so Im wondering how the canister works..

I live in california and need to smog it. When i took it to smog, the evap said ready, but the tech didn't see any tank pressure values.. . (as i don't have a fuel pressure sensor) confused.gif

can someone please let me know if this is right so i'll some information for when i go back to smog. all help is appreciated..

Good idea with the swap. But this was a big mistake. I am still trying to get the swap smog taken care of in my 04. you will have to smog it as a 2003 from now on and I dont think you can go back to a carbed engine now

I take it out to Lopez Lake in in San Luis Obispo. I am fighting the smog nazi on my 6.0 swap. It was 1500-1500 my truck is an 04 and engine is from an 05

the fuel pump is the airtex e3501m that doesn't have the extra sensor. if it doesnt have the sensor, then does the truck actually need one? that was the curious part... if i can prove this was an option for the 2003 silverado, then i'll be ok.

I just did a quick part search for a 2003 3500 6.0 and it looks like you need the pump with dual plugs. Single plug was federal emissions, dual plug is Cali emissions
