I think its time to put my PS3 out to pasture

I'm on PS3 #2. Its a slim. Upgraded it to a 7200 rpm 320 GB hard drive. It gave me many hours of faithful service just has the PS3 before it, and the PS2 before that, and the PS2 before that, and who can forget the original PlayStayion before that.

The disc drive in both PS3's failed. The original fat model 80 GB with 4 USB ports had the laser fail and now this one had the disc drive fail. It won't take a disc at all. The feed system failed on it.

Why do these things happen 6 months before the PS4 is supposed to drop? Now I have to get a new PS3.

This just pisses me off

I'm still on an original PS3 LOL!!!! Still goin strong!!

I also have a new one in Alberta at the house I live in for work...but my old original is still goin. I still have an original Nintendo, super NES, 64, ps1, ps2 as well. I wish I never lost my sega genesis, I also had a sega Saturn I never knew what happened to it...can you guess which one i enjoy playing the most???

The original ninendo!!! Or the first Mario cart on NES!!

The original PS3 is better than the slim, just like if you get a refurbed 360 it's better than the 360 slim (won't trash discs and freeze).

This PS3 has gone from Florida to California. Then from California to Utah and back to California twice. It has sentimental value

you could always just buy a new disc drive and install it. Did it on my orig ps3. found a new blu ray drive for 50 and installed it.

I had 3 Xbox 360 break and traded for a ps3 years ago and still have it, its the original one. I've used it a lot and left it on for hours at a time still runs like a top.
