The Oil / Filter I use in 2010 GMC Sierra 5.3L

Just thought I'd share what I use; First off I drive a 2010 GMC Sierra SLT "All Terrain Pkg," 5.3L, 6L80E Tranny, 3.42 rear-end with the G80. I use 10W30 Mobil 1 oil with Lucas Pure Synthetic. I use the AcDelco PF63 oil filter.

My reasoning for Mobil 1 I use because if GM can use it in the Corvette since 1991 than its good for my truck and best its the best synthetic out there.

My reasoning for 10w30 oil I use is because I personalty believe 5w-30 is too thin of oil, I know its used make the vehicles more efficient.

My reasoning for AcDelco PF63 oil filter is because its longer than the stock PF48 that came on the truck new. More filter media.

My truck starts up and runs quiet, no lifter tick, no piston slap. Also my truck does not use/burn any oil, oil is on the full mark when its time to change the oil.

Where do you live at? If it's an area that gets relatively cold you might wanna rethink that 10w30. Both oil weights are 30 when warmed up, the 5 and 10 are just cold flow numbers. You want the oil to flow as quick as possible during startup.

Also i would ditch the Lucas oil treatment. You spent all that money on some nice Mobil 1, then you go and contaminate it with lucas. Modern oil doesn't need any modifiers in it like Lucas. Especially Mobil 1 or any full synthetic.

DaveH71 is correct. You do not need an additive, you already are using a good quality synthetic.
