brake controller issues

Gentlemen,

 

I am at a loss..... I have just installed a brake controller in my 01 Duramax to pull my travel trailer. The truck is prewired for towing, so all I had to do was plug in to the box just left of the brake pedal on the firewall.

All the lights work, and the light on the controller comes on sporadically, but the brakes on the trailer are not activated with the brake pedal. If i manually push the slider over, the trailer brakes will engage.

 

I have had this controller in a 06 Avalanche, and a 04 Tahoe, and they both worked fine, but just doesn't seem to work on this one.

 

Any help??

Check for corrosion on the electric brake pin of your trailer plug and truck socket.
