Accumulator insulation

Does anyone know or think that the insulation gm puts around the accumulator is necessary or makes a difference? I have a gmt800 and there is no insulation and wonder if I should put some on. If it does make a difference, where can I get it?

AC Delco 15-10620 should do it if it's for the 03 GMC. Plenty on eBay, Amazon, etc. Whether it's needed or not....can't answer that one but my 02 came with it and it's still in place.
