'91C-1500 ignition switch replacement

Well, LOST my ONLY ignition switch. Haynes manual says in Sec.12-4 to "...put ignition switch in the ON position when removing old switch". U C my problem ??!!! Also, Any 'short cuts'?

no i dont ,use real words please ,,

 

turn the key to the run position ,

 

are you replacing the key cyl or the ign switch on the coluum?
