QC Hold?

Has anyone had a Silverado or Sierra ship lately? My order has been sitting in Mexico for over 2 weeks now and I am getting antsy. I have heard that in the past that GM has put all shipments on QC holds for extended periods of time when there was a quality issue. I am in need of a truck by the second week of December and I am concerned that the truck may not be here by then.

I found another truck specced out almost exactly the same at another dealer, this dealer will not sell the truck to the dealer I ordered with. How do you guys feel about bailing on an order at one dealer and picking up the vehicle you want with the specs you want at another since the ordering dealer can't do anything about getting the shipment there on time. I have also found that the truck that is already built sitting on the dealer's lot is cheaper as it was built in the end of September.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

As far as I'm aware, my truck was built between the 11th - 15th, and was on a train by the end of last week. Obviously yet to be SEEN (and I'm up in Canada) but I don't believe there was a QC hold?

The whole process seems to be a crap-shoot. Some guys have had quick builds, and slow shipping. Mine was at least 6 weeks to be built, but didn't seem to sit too long for shipping?!

Mine was built on the 12th and hasn't moved from it's parking spot outside the factory since. GM wont give me any answers other than that it is bayed. So irritated...

Same exact situation. I'm gonna walk because mine hasn't even been built or doesn't have a build date.
