2010 Silverado 2500 Auxiliary Switches

Hello, I've recently purchased a 2010 Silverado 2500hd LT and I'm looking to add some additional lighting.

 

Does anybody know if the OEM garage door openers can be modified to be used as auxiliary switches?

That's actually not a bad idea, but I have not seen this type of mod yet. I can only guess that this can be done by removing the homelink circuit board and replacing it with another circuit board with micro switches that would trigger relays, definitely a thought.......

That's what I figured. I ended up installing a rocker switch to the right of the headlight knob.
