04 suburban steering noise when tuning left

Recommended Posts

Looking at a 2004 1500 suburban 2wd with 94k. When turning left there is a groaning noise and can be felt in the steering wheel. Steering feels great at speed with no vibes and no noises when turning right. The intermediate steering shaft was replaced at 50k. It feels like rubber is binding up against something in the steering column assembly.

What could this be and what could I check for? If its just a cosmetic noise i could care less. If its something like the steering box then i need to know. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked your fluid level/condition lately? I ask because just tonight I had time to look into my similar steering issue. My fluid was pretty dark, & way low. Start with the easy stuff & then move on.
