First post. 2006 side mirror question

I've heard from a few people the the new body style 2007-2013 side mirrors will fit on a 2006 silverado. Is this true? I've looked at them and it seems where it bolts to the door the new style is bigger. But a guy swears up and down he's seen it done

They will not fit without extensive modification

What kind of modification ?

They did have the tow mirror for the gmt 800s that looked like the one in the 900s that was almost identical design

Yep look in my signature.

 

I have not compared the 2 mirrors side by side but the plastic where it meets the door is a lot different. Might leak IF holes line up. Then mpst likely there are different plugs
